Gurugram, 7 April. On Ramnavami, a violent incident unfolded in Sector 7 when a drug addict, already under the influence and reportedly smoking drug-laced cigarettes, asked for a medicine known to be misused by addicts. When the local medical shop owner refused to provide the substance, the man defiantly threatened, “I’ll see you tomorrow,” before launching an assault.
CCTV footage captured the dramatic sequence around 3 PM. The incident began when the lone addict approached the shop and threw a stone. The situation quickly escalated as several other individuals—many with their faces covered—joined in, armed with stones and sticks, to attack the shop.
The confrontation erupted after the shopkeeper’s refusal to supply the much-abused medicine sparked the altercation. A challenge voiced from within the shop caused the attackers to disperse and flee the scene.
Despite the severity of the incident, authorities have taken no action so far. The shopkeepers have lodged a complaint at the local police station and are demanding that justice be served.
