Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 10 April – In a commendable display of promptness and humanity, Gurugram Police’s ERV-269 team acted swiftly to assist a pregnant woman in distress, ensuring timely medical help for both mother and newborn.
On April 9, 2025, around 9:30 AM, the ERV-269 police team stationed at Daulatabad Chowk was approached by a car carrying a pregnant woman along with two companions. The driver asked for directions to the Civil Hospital. Observing the woman’s critical condition, the police team—comprising EHC Surender and driver Constable Jaibhagwan—immediately assessed the urgency of the situation.
Exercising quick judgment, the officers decided to escort the car. With the police siren on and guiding the way by clearing traffic, the ERV team managed to reach the hospital in just 17 minutes. However, during the journey, the woman delivered her baby in the car, and both mother and child were in a precarious state.
Upon reaching the hospital, the ERV team coordinated swiftly with the hospital staff to ensure immediate medical attention. Doctors treated the woman, identified as 24-year-old Sonu, and her newborn. Later, the medical team confirmed both were in stable and healthy condition.
The police also guided the accompanying family members—Sonu’s husband, Hasan and her brother Saddam—on how to seek further assistance if required, advising them to dial the emergency number 112 in case of any help.
The family, who work as daily wage laborers in Hayatpur, expressed deep gratitude to the Gurugram Police for their timely and life-saving support.
This incident stands as a shining example of police compassion and efficiency and the human side of law enforcement.
