
Gurugram, 11 April – A late-night transformer fire in DLF Phase-3’s Nathupur area caused significant damage, destroying several vehicles and sparking panic among residents. The incident occurred around 1:45 AM on Friday near Gali Number 35 in U Block, when a transformer reportedly caught fire due to a suspected short circuit. The flames quickly spread to nearby parked vehicles, resulting in the complete destruction of three cars, an auto-rickshaw, and two motorcycles.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the CNG cylinders in the affected vehicles did not explode, averting a potential catastrophe. Firefighters from the local department responded promptly, deploying two fire tenders to the scene. After approximately 90 minutes of concerted effort, the fire was successfully extinguished.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage. This incident underscores the importance of regular maintenance and safety checks for electrical infrastructure, especially in densely populated urban areas.
