In a moment of immense pride for Gurugram and the Indian academic community, Suhani Gupta, a Grade 12 student of Amity International School, has brought international recognition to the country by securing the Grand Award — 4th Place — in the Physics and Astronomy category at the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2026. Along with the honour, she also received a cash prize of 600 US dollars.

The globally renowned science competition was held in Phoenix from May 9 to May 15, 2026, and witnessed participation from more than 1,700 young researchers representing over 70 countries. Known as the world’s largest and most prestigious pre-collegiate science and engineering fair, Regeneron ISEF serves as a platform where some of the brightest young scientific minds present innovative research projects before internationally acclaimed scientists and judges.
Suhani earned the opportunity to represent Team India after winning a Gold Medal at the IRIS National Fair, where her project was selected among the top 20 projects across the country for participation at the international level. Competing against 82 projects in the Physics and Astronomy category, she impressed the judges with her advanced theoretical research project titled, “Vacuum Polarization Effects from Dark Fermion Loops in Z′ Mediator Models and Their Impact on Angular Observables in Rare B-Meson Decays.”
Her research proposed a novel hypothetical framework aimed at explaining certain anomalies observed in rare B-Meson decays, an area that continues to intrigue physicists across the globe. The complexity and originality of the project drew appreciation from the international scientific community and ultimately led to her securing one of the top honours at the event.
The school management expressed immense joy and pride over Suhani’s achievement. The accomplishment was attributed to the visionary guidance and constant encouragement of Chairperson Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, and Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Arti Chopra, whose commitment towards academic excellence and scientific research continues to inspire students to perform at global platforms.
Speaking about her achievement, Suhani shared that being part of an institution that promotes independent thinking, innovation, and scientific temperament has played a crucial role in shaping her research journey. She expressed gratitude towards her mentors, teachers, parents, and the school administration for their continuous support throughout the process.
Suhani’s remarkable success has not only brought laurels to the school but has also highlighted the growing contribution of young Indian students in advanced scientific research at the international level. Her achievement stands as an inspiration for aspiring researchers and students across the country, proving that dedication, curiosity, and perseverance can open doors to the world’s biggest scientific platforms
