Hisar Divisional Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority and Managing Director of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Ashok Kumar Garg, IAS said that the safety of common citizens is the priority. As a power distribution company, it is our responsibility to maintain a safe and accident-free system.
He directed that there should not be any kind of danger to the life and property of the citizens, no person and employee should suffer any harm from the lines of the power corporation. For this, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has given the responsibility of safety officer to the Executive Engineer. In view of this, information about any kind of danger related to power lines can be given directly to the headquarters. Any citizen can give information of such place by giving photo, video, Google location or landmark, name of sub division area etc. on Executive Engineer (Security)’s mobile-Whatsapp number 9050960500.
To avoid danger to life and property, any passerby, citizen or consumer can immediately inform about the current flowing in broken poles, electric wires, support wire, earth wire, transformer, meter box or any other on this WhatsApp number 9050960500. It will be repaired immediately by the Nigam.
Recent observations have highlighted the dangerous conditions of electrical assets of consumer residences like power lines, poles, transformers, feeder poles, meters and meter boxes installed on poles. These pose serious safety concerns and sometimes lead to fatal and non-fatal accidents. It is important to protect against the current flowing in all the electric wires.
Garg said that the staff working in the field at the SDO level, junior engineers, foreman, lineman, assistant line staff have to conduct an intensive safety campaign. With the participation of the SDO, all area in-charges ALM, LM, AFM and JE will remove the shortcomings and faults of the system as per their area-wise responsibilities. By running a complete safety campaign in their area, they will improve the entire area.
The area in-charge has to regularly patrol all the electrical assets and the designated feeder in-charge has to maintain a monitoring book for regular maintenance of the electrical system and its maintenance in a safe condition. All the defects and deficiencies found in the system have to be included in this book along with GPS coordinates. In this, the name of the feeder, name of the transformer, area, deficiencies found or observed along with GPS location and details of the maintenance work done have to be recorded. Everyone has to ensure that the power system in their jurisdiction is fine and free from potential dangers.
He clearly said that all the concerned personnel have to ensure their careful compliance. The directions also reiterated that in order to maintain safety of electrical systems and prevent accidents, safety manuals and videos available on the Corporation’s website www.dhbvn.org.in should be publicised and followed for the employees and general public.
