Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 4 May – The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), was conducted smoothly and without incident across 18 centres in Gurugram district on Sunday. Of the 6,672 registered candidates, 6,462 were present, while 210 did not turn up for the examination.
District Nodal Officer and Additional Labour Commissioner (NCR) Kushal Kataria explained that the district administration had put in place extensive measures to guarantee a fair and cheat-free examination environment. “We deployed both male and female police personnel at every centre, and all students underwent thorough frisking before being granted entry,” Kataria said.
To ensure candidates’ comfort and focus, organisers secured uninterrupted power supply, potable water, clean restrooms, and first-aid facilities at each venue. CCTV cameras and signal jammers monitored all activity, and a central control room at the Mini Secretariat tracked real-time updates from every centre.
For added security, District Magistrate Ajay Kumar invoked Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, the duration of the test. Nearby photocopy shops and electronics outlets were temporarily closed to prevent potential misuse.
Kataria praised the coordination between police, administrative staff, and centre officials, noting that “these concerted efforts ensured the examination proceeded peacefully and efficiently.”
