Gurugram (Mohit Kumar/Paridhi Dhasmana), 30 April – A fierce fire broke out this morning in the slum settlements of Sector 102, Gurugram. In no time, the blaze grew alarmingly intense, engulfing several makeshift huts to ashes and leaving several families homeless. Panic erupted as residents started running here and there to save their lives. Fire department crews that arrived on the scene, managed to bring the fire under control after a strenuous effort. The department, strong—battled the inferno for hours before finally gaining control, while residents fled in panic. As of this report, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
According to available information, the fire started suddenly at around 4 a.m. The flames were so powerful that they could be seen from a considerable distance. The fire burned down several shanties, and entire huts – along with the belongings stored in them – were completely reduced to ashes. Nearly six fire engines battled the blaze for several hours before finally extinguishing it.
