Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 2 September – Gurugram’s C2 Block, Palam Vihar, is living in the dark ages—literally. The electricity infrastructure here has gone from fragile to fatal. Transformer panels and cables are drowning in rainwater like stranded ships, and residents are left counting sparks instead of stars.
In just one month, three transformers have already been replaced. Today, yet again, another transformer blew up—turning C2 Block into a ticking time bomb of wires, water, and negligence.
Abhishek Sharma, Vice President of the C2 Block RWA, has raised the alarm: “Major accident can happen anytime. Human lives are at stake. We urgently request DHBVN officials, including the Exn and SDO, to take immediate action.”
Residents say the situation is more than a power cut problem—it’s a public safety emergency. Every rainfall threatens to flood the panels, and with every short circuit, the fear grows that the next blast won’t just fry the transformer but endanger lives.
The RWA’s message is blunt: enough of patchwork fixes. They’re demanding immediate, lasting solutions before Palam Vihar’s “lights out” turns into a full-blown tragedy.
