Gurugram, 23 April — Rakesh Sapru, Founder-President of the National Mission for Unity and Brotherhood, today voiced profound sorrow over the recent terror attack in the Kashmir Valley, extending his heartfelt condolences to the families of the innocent victims. In an impassioned statement, Sapru stressed that the loss “is not just personal, it is a loss to the entire country,” and reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering solidarity with those affected.
Describing the assailants as devoid of “religion, humanity, or justification for their barbarity,” Sapru rejected any attempt to validate violence on religious grounds. “Asking someone’s religion or attacking innocent people will never justify any cause,” he declared, warning that “these brutal acts will neither shake the resolve of our nation nor compel the government to bend.”
The National Mission for Unity and Brotherhood leader characterized the attack as a desperate ploy by those “losing the battle” for hearts and minds in the Valley, noting that the local population increasingly “chooses peace over chaos, unity over division.” He cautioned, however, that true normalcy in the region cannot coexist with ongoing terror. “We cannot hope for normalcy while tolerating such crimes,” he said.
Calling for decisive action, Sapru urged Parliament to adopt “iron-clad laws that ensure swift justice and zero tolerance for terrorism in any form.” He appealed to all citizens to rise “above politics, religion, and divisions” and speak with a “single voice” to send the clear message that “India will not be intimidated, and Kashmir will not be destabilised.”
Sapru concluded by reiterating the country’s debt to those who lost their lives and to “every citizen who dreams of a peaceful, united nation,” emphasizing that the nation’s strength lies in its solidarity against terror.
