Gurugram, 14th August. Sri Sir Radha Damodar Temple ISKCON Sector 67 is gearing up for the Krishna Janmashtami celebration on Saturday, 16th August, with a plethora of activities in a Mega way.
For the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebration on 16th August, Krishna devotees at ISKCON, Sector 67, Gurgaon, have been making preparations for the last month to ensure a grand success. To mark the occasion, ISKCON’s 67th temple has come up with a 2-day-long festive program.
“This year we will celebrate the occasion in a two-day-long programme. The cultural program will be held on 15th August, where children will present plethora of cultural programs. There will be dance, drama, shloka recitation, and mantra meditation etc. The main celebration will kick off with Mangal Aarti, Bhoga Aarti, Kalash Abhishek, and Mahaabhishek at midnight. It’s a divine occasion and makes you successful in life by getting Darshan of Lord Krishna on His Special Day,” said Rambhadra Das, President of ISKCON Sector 67 Temple, Gurgaon.
“We have made huge security arrangements so that devotees can have Darshan of Lord Smoothly. Chappan Bhoga will be offered to the Lord after the Maha Abhishek is over at midnight. For the celebration, along with the main temple, the vicinity roads have also been decorated with Kolkata Light. At midnight, Lord Krishna will be bathed in several items. On the next day of Janmashtami, we will also celebrate the Appearance Day of Prabhupad- The Founder of ISKCON worldwide,” added Das.
” There will be a plethora of cultural programmes. Students from Bhakta Prahad school and some reputed public schools in Gurgaon will present different cultural programmes,” informed Akhila Shama Devi Dasi.
The ISKCON Sector 67 Gurugram congregation has a great and rich history. From a small gathering of people that started about 15 years ago, the ISKCON Gurugram has come a long way by transforming itself from a small Preaching Centre to a full-fledged Temple. The congregational activities include Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra in different condominiums of Gurgaon, Value-Education Programs, Mantra Meditation, Vegetarian Karma-free Cooking, Distribution of Free Prasad to the destitute and homeless under ISKCON’s Food for Life Program, distribution of Vedic books, Kirtan concerts, Harinam Sankirtan in the streets, and regular Sunday feast programs etc.
