Gurugram, 2 August. Under the guidance of respected Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, a workshop was conducted at the Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurugram for teachers of various classes.
The workshop titled, ‘Transforming Schools Through Teaching Excellence’ was conducted by the most revered Principal of the school, Dr. (Mrs.) Arti Chopra. The exhaustive workshop based on the instructions of the CBSE on promoting awareness about the National Education Policy 2020 for reforming the Indian education system delved into the need for transformation, introducing better pedagogical strategies and the need to create smart goals and practices in the field. The session was interspersed with anecdotes, questions and answer sessions, and brainstorming sessions. The workshop was highly interactive, stimulating and it prompted attendees to put on their thinking hats.
Dr. Arti Chopra talked at length about the need to develop pedagogical leadership models amongst educators, empower teachers to become agents of change and to practice distributed leadership. The workshop laid stress on the need for innovation in education and the development of experiential learning practices in classrooms. According to Dr. Arti Chopra, there is a need to develop 21st century learning skills in our students today. There needs to be a paradigm shift from engaging students to empowering students in the learning process according to her.
