Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 13 May – Debanshu Mukherjee and Shiva Kaul, Class XII Children with Special Needs at Amity International School, secured 91% and 85.2% respectively in their CBSE board exams, demonstrating how tailored learning supports can drive exceptional outcomes.
The CBSE’s CWSN category recognizes students facing challenges such as dysgraphia and dyslexia, who require specialized accommodations. Amity International School integrates adaptive learning strategies—customized lesson plans, assistive technologies and close teacher-parent collaboration—to ensure these learners engage fully with the curriculum and achieve their academic potential.
Debanshu, diagnosed with dysgraphia, benefited from focused sculptural exercises that leveraged his fine-motor strengths and from verbal-to-written mapping tools. His support plan included extra drafting sessions and individualized feedback on written work. Shiva, who navigated dyslexia, used text-to-speech software and structured reading modules, alongside joint planning meetings with teachers and parents. Both students followed tailored schedules balancing core subjects with skill-building activities, enabling them to master concepts at their own pace.
Debanshu’s 91% aggregate featured highs in Sculpture (95%) and English (92%), while Shiva’s 85.2% included a 99% in Sculpture and 91% in English. Their results reflect consistent dedication: Debanshu’s artistic aptitude and Shiva’s resilience underpinned by targeted interventions throughout the year.
By combining adaptive techniques, assistive technologies and sustained mentor-parent engagement, Amity International School has demonstrated a replicable framework for CWSN success. Debanshu Mukherjee and Shiva Kaul’s achievements underscore that with the right supports, learning challenges need not limit academic excellence.
