Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurugram, proudly announces the outstanding national achievement of Chinmay Karwa, a student of Class XI, who emerged as a National Winner at the School Youth Ideathon 2025, organised by ThinkStartup in collaboration with IIT Delhi. The Grand Finale was held on 18 January at the prestigious IIT Delhi campus, where Chinmay showcased his innovative project titled “Signal Surge.”
Chinmay’s project, an eco-friendly and low-cost Wi-Fi booster, was widely appreciated for its affordability, sustainability, and practical application in enhancing digital connectivity. The innovation attracted significant attention from angel investors and incubators, earning him a grant of ₹70,000 to further develop and scale the project. He has also secured copyright recognition for Signal Surge: Enhancing Wi-Fi Connectivity in the Digital Age, which has further strengthened the credibility and future prospects of his innovation.
In addition to this remarkable achievement, Chinmay was also recognised for achieving maximum sales on the Kidco platform, highlighting his strong entrepreneurial acumen. His award-winning project stands as a perfect amalgamation of scientific innovation and commercial temperament.
The School Youth Ideathon 2025, themed “Nayi Soch, Naya Bharat”, witnessed an overwhelming response, with over two lakh entries from across India. The competition began in September 2024, followed by the selection of the Top 2000 ideas in November. In January 2025, the Top 500 ideas were shortlisted, and subsequently, the Top 125 finalists were invited to IIT Delhi for expert interviews and the Grand Finale. The event was evaluated by IIT professors, industry experts, angel investors, and incubators, transforming the IIT Delhi campus into a vibrant hub of innovation.
During the Grand Finale, students set up interactive stalls, demonstrated their products, engaged with dignitaries, and interacted with real consumers. Based on overall performance—including idea clarity, stall presentation, product outreach, and market engagement—Chinmay was declared among the Top 8 National Finalists and received the following prestigious awards:
- National-Level Winner – School Youth Ideathon 2025
- Best National Maximum Sales Award
Chinmay has consistently demonstrated exceptional talent and entrepreneurial spirit. He was selected as a Finalist in Eureka! Junior – Road to Enterprise, IIT Bombay (2025), a flagship initiative of E-Cell, IIT Bombay, and secured third place internationally in the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2021, organised by the Wild Wisdom – Fund for Nature.
Expressing his gratitude, Chinmay thanked Amity International School, Sector 46, for the constant mentoring and guidance provided by his teachers, which played a pivotal role in refining his idea and preparing him for national-level presentations. He also conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan for her visionary leadership and unwavering encouragement, which continues to inspire students to think creatively and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
