Chandigarh, July 29. Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, it is essential to adopt the mantra of “Vocal for Local.” In this direction, the Directorate of MSME has been established under the Industries Department in states to promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Rao Narbir Singh was chairing a review meeting today via video conferencing with MSME officers from all districts, held at the NIC Centre in Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh.
The minister emphasized that the government is prioritizing the empowerment of small industries through the cluster model. The central government has launched several schemes for this purpose, which also includes state-level participation and subsidies. He stated that it is the responsibility of the officials to ensure timely dissemination of information about these schemes to entrepreneurs and the general public.
Officials Should Be Entrepreneur-Friendly
He clearly directed that officials must bring a positive change in their attitude. He said entrepreneurs are not here to ask for favors but to contribute to the state, so they must be treated with respect and supported accordingly. He also instructed that entrepreneurs should not have to make repeated visits to offices. All necessary documents should be prepared and sent to the headquarters in one go.
District-Level Industry Meetings Every 15 Days
The minister instructed all District Manager Coordinators (DMCs) to conduct meetings with representatives of local industry associations every 15 days. He said these meetings should not be confined to office premises but also be held at public venues, with prior announcements published in local newspapers.
He also directed that a comprehensive booklet of all central and state government schemes be prepared and distributed to all relevant stakeholders.
The minister reviewed the progress of several schemes and policies including the Haryana Enterprises and Employment Policy (HEEP) 2020, State Mini Cluster Development Scheme, PADMA Scheme, Plug and Play Scheme for cluster development, Haryana Atmanirbhar Textile Policy 2022–25, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, and the PM-FME Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
Director General of Industries and Commerce Department, D.K. Behera, and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
