Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 21 July — As the city gears up for a sea of saffron and spirited chants echoing across the highways, the Gurugram Traffic Police has issued a special advisory for heavy vehicles ahead of the Kanwar Yatra rush from 21st to 23rd July, culminating in Mahashivratri on 23rd July 2025.
The message is loud and clear: If your vehicle’s heavy, change your route — the yatris come first.
In a move to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of Kanwar Yatris, authorities have directed all heavy vehicles traveling from Delhi towards Rajasthan, Jhajjar, Rewari, Pataudi, Nuh, and Faridabad to strictly stick to the Dwarka Expressway and KMP Expressway during these days.
The Kanwar Yatra brings lakhs of devotees onto the roads, often barefoot, carrying holy Ganga water for the Jalabhishek ritual on Mahashivratri. It’s both a spiritual journey and a logistical test for traffic authorities — one that turns expressways into processional corridors.
So, if you’re behind the wheel of a truck, trailer, or any vehicle with serious axle weight — consider this your official detour.
As always, drive slow, honk less, and show some Kanwar courtesy.
