Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 28 July – With a heart for harmony and hands full of hope, the Uttarakhand Cultural Unity Forum organized a vibrant tree plantation drive in Gurugram’s Sector 10 park under the impactful theme, “Ek Zindagi, Ek Ped” (One Life, One Tree). Held on Sunday, the event was not just a plantation drive—it was a movement rooted in environmental responsibility and collective spirit.
The event was formally inaugurated by Mahavir Yadav, Councillor of Sector 10, and Avneesh Raghav, Councillor of Sector 9, whose presence added gravitas to the green initiative. Over 50 saplings were planted by enthusiastic residents, including children, women, RWA members, and dedicated forum representatives.
This social initiative is part of the Forum’s broader mission of community development, which has seen nine years of continuous effort across Gurugram—ranging from blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, student felicitation, and support for the needy, to the celebration of religious and cultural events. Through these impactful programs, the organization has carved a distinct identity in the city’s social fabric.
Forum President Manoj Bhandari emphasized, “Every human must recognize the significance of trees and contribute by planting as many as possible during their lifetime.” His call resonated deeply with the attendees, whose commitment turned the event into a festive act of service.
And it wasn’t just a symbolic gesture—behind every sapling stood a force of passion and purpose. Among those leading the initiative were General Secretary Ramendra Singh Negi and Vice President Subhash Budakoti, who were joined by core team members Ramesh Ghildiyal, Hayat Singh Rana, Shiv Prasad Badoni, Sanat Dobriyal, Mehrban Singh Rawat, Sandeep Rawat, Manwar Singh Bhandari, Laxman Singh Negi, Jagmohan Negi, Pramod Rawat, Deepak Negi, Ashok Negi, and Roshan Rawat, each contributing their energy and dedication to the cause of a greener Gurugram.
Carrying the spirit of Shakti and sustainability were the dedicated women participants: Hemlata Mishra, Kusum Joshi, Rashmi Bisht, Anjali Bhandari, Sunita Rawat, Nidhi Gusain, Sangeeta Juyal, Sunita Negi, Ruchi Negi, Jyoti Sharma, Vrinda Gaur, Renu Gaur, Parvati Negi, Pushpa Kandwal, Hemlata Rawat, Mala Rawat, and Niki Ghildiyal.
Their united presence not only added color and compassion to the event but also sent a strong message: the environment isn’t just a cause; it’s a community effort.
As saplings took root, so did the Forum’s deeper message—to grow greener, together.
