Gurugram, 16 April – An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from Manesar Cyber Police Station, Shri Bhagwan, reportedly hanged himself at his home yesterday. According to his wife, Sapna, it is alleged that her husband was repeatedly receiving phone calls from a female Sub-Inspector, which caused him severe distress and ultimately led him to commit suicide.
In her written complaint, Sapna stated that after returning home from duty, her husband would often leave the house whenever he received a phone call and would come back visibly agitated, yet he never disclosed any details when questioned. She further revealed that on 7 April, her husband had met with an accident while heading out for duty, and a doctor had advised him to take rest following the incident.
On Tuesday, while Sapna was on duty at her school, she returned home to find a group of people gathered outside. Upon entering the house, she discovered her husband lying on the floor with a noose tied around his neck, indicating that he had taken his own life by hanging. Near the body, the police recovered a diary containing a three-page suicide note, along with a pen and a OnePlus mobile phone. Additionally, a chunni (scarf) was found at the scene; it has been sealed as evidence.
Sapna has accused that her husband’s repeated distress was a direct result of receiving phone calls from a female Sub-Inspector. She has demanded that the police take legal action against those responsible for harassing her husband. An FIR has been registered, and the investigation into the case is currently underway.
It is noted that the female SI, who is posted in Gurugram, had come into contact with Shri Bhagwan during his duty hours. However, the precise reason for her alleged actions, and the nature of their interaction, remain unclear as the investigation continues. Police have yet to release further details about the case.
