Gurugram, August 4. Blue Bells Model School hosted the Stage-O-Rama Theatre Festival, themed “Twist of the Bard : Classic Tales, Recast and Rewritten” and “From Grit to Glory: The Journey of a Sports Icon” on 1st and 2nd August. Conceptualized by Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director of Academic Development and Innovation, the event began with ceremonial lamp lighting, traditional verses and declaration of the event.
Principal , Alka Singh welcomed guests, highlighting theatre’s role in fostering self-reflection, collaboration, and social awareness. The curtain-raiser featured a captivating performance by Srishti Sanjay and team. Enthusiastic participants showcased their talents through Hindi plays like Milka Singh, Mithali Raj, Geeta & Babita and Major Dhyan Chand and English plays viz Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Othello and Merchant of Venice .
The jury included Binod Kumar, Anumita Dutta, Praveena Kumar and Mohit Kandhari, renowned theatre artists. Mother Teresa House won Best English play while Tagore House won best Hindi Play. Overall trophy was clinched by Tagore House.
Saroj Suman Gulati emphasized theatre’s role in exploring diverse strategies and their effectiveness. The two-day event was a thrilling and enriching experience for all involved.
