Mahendragarh, 5 May – Have you ever seen an 8‑year‑old SHO? In Narnaul, Mahendragarh district, an eight‑year‑old student from the Government School Kalba was invited to sit in as the Station House Officer (SHO) for a few moments. When asked what she would do now that she was the SHO, she replied, “First, I will lock up all the criminals and send them to jail.” Her decisive answer drew enthusiastic applause from everyone present.
This event took place under the “Classroom Readiness” program, during which students of Government Primary School Kalba, led by teacher Krishna Nangli, Deputy Headmaster Jaiveer, DPE Karan Singh, and Ratri Ram of KCC, visited the police station and post office in Nangal Chaudhary town. At the police station, Officer‑in‑Charge Chhatarpal welcomed the young visitors. Deeply impressed by the third‑grader’s confidence and quick wit, he sought permission from his superiors to let her try out the SHO’s seat. Upon receiving approval, he proudly placed Annu in the chair—where she promptly laid out her plan to tackle crime, earning cheers and applause.
