Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 25 April – Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar has urged residents to help maintain law and order in the district following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam by refraining from posting any content on social media that could undermine religious harmony.
Speaking after a video-conference chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the DC warned that no one should upload videos, photos, or text using abusive language or targeting any individual, caste, religion, or community. “Any objectionable post by a person or organization will be met with legal action under the law,” he said.
Ajay Kumar also stressed that no rumors should be spread on social platforms. “Anyone who circulates false information or makes derogatory comments about someone’s religion or caste will face strict police action,” he added.
He appealed to the public to foster mutual brotherhood and ignore unverified reports. “Use social media only to promote cooperation, unity, and harmony,” the DC said, urging citizens to immediately report any wrongdoers or mischievous elements to the police. In case of emergencies or if a suspicious individual is spotted, residents should contact their local police station or dial 112. Informants’ identities will be kept confidential.
