Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 16 May — Haryana’s rising star in rhythmic gymnastics, Mishka, clinched the bronze medal in the club event at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 held at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. In a tightly contested final, she edged past Delhi’s Rachel Deep to secure the podium spot, as Maharashtra topped the tally with five golds, four silvers and one bronze, and Delhi claimed one silver and three bronzes. Haryana’s haul was highlighted by Mishka’s lone but hard-earned bronze.
Mishka trains at Nehru Stadium in Gurugram under the guidance of coach Naveen Saini. Over the past year, she has also been honing her skills at the national camp in Uttarakhand, where she commits six to seven hours of daily practice in preparation for major international meets. “Mishka’s dedication at camp is exceptional,” says Coach Saini. “Her focus and discipline give her the edge she needs to shine on the world stage.”
Her journey to national recognition began on 11 February, when an outstanding performance at the Jammu & Kashmir trials caught the selectors’ attention and earned her a spot on the Khelo India team. Earlier, Mishka had showcased her talent at the 2024 Junior Asian Championships in Uzbekistan and enjoyed success at both state–level Khelo Haryana meets and various national competitions.
Mishka attributes her achievements to the support of her family, teachers and coaches. “Their encouragement keeps me motivated,” she says. “Every medal is a shared victory.”
With her bronze secured, Mishka now turns her focus to the World Gymnastics Championships in Sofia, scheduled from 18 to 22 June. She will depart India on 15 June, aiming not only to compete but to raise India’s profile in rhythmic gymnastics on the global stage.
