DHBVN paid interest on security deposit of 40,68,634 consumers

A Sreenivas, Secretary, Haryana Energy Department and Managing Director, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam said that Rs 150.80 crore has been deposited in the electricity bill account of electricity consumers.
He said that DHBVN has decided to pay interest at the rate of 6.75 per cent per annum on the advance security amount (ACD) deposited by the consumers. This Rs. 150.80 crore is in the form of interest received by all consumers on their security deposit. This amount has been given to their electricity bill account as per the deposited ACD of consumers.
Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has adjusted the interest received on the security deposit of its 40,68,634 consumers in the bills in the month of April, 2025. The interest amount deposited in the bills will be reflected as an adjustment in the electricity bills of the respective consumers.
Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has credited the interest earned during the financial year 2024-25 in the electricity bill accounts of its consumers.
The interest on consumption security for the financial year 2024-25 has been calculated by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and audited as per the mandatory interest rate. The interest on security deposit thus calculated has been credited to the consumer accounts.

A total amount of ₹150.80 crore has been adjusted by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam as interest accrued on security amount deposited by 40,68,634 consumers.
Consumers have expressed their gratitude to DHBVN for depositing the interest amount on their ACD for the financial year 2024-25 in their electricity bill accounts.
