Gurugram, October 3: Under the ongoing Encroachment-Free Gurugram Campaign, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has stepped up its actions to clear public spaces. The Street Vending Management Team of MCG is continuously removing encroachments from roads, footpaths, green belts, and other public areas to ensure smooth traffic flow and ease for residents.
On Friday, the team carried out a special drive in Sarhaul, Sector-18, and adjoining areas, undertaking large-scale demolition of illegal encroachments. Along with clearing the occupied spaces, the team also seized materials found at the site. Roadside stalls, kiosks, makeshift sheds, and dhabas were demolished during the operation. Offenders were warned that if they are found encroaching again, strict legal action will be taken as per rules.
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya reiterated that the primary objective of the corporation is to make Gurugram completely free of encroachments. He said that illegal occupations of roads, footpaths, and public spaces not only inconvenience citizens but also obstruct traffic movement. He instructed teams to not only remove encroachments but also maintain constant monitoring to prevent their reoccurrence.
He further appealed to citizens to cooperate with MCG in keeping the city clean, organized, and beautiful, and to refrain from engaging in encroachment activities. The drive will continue regularly to ensure smooth traffic management and uninterrupted public convenience in Gurugram.
