Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), April 14 –Gurugram police has arrested the man accused of murdering his live-in partner. The suspect, Kaleecharan, is believed to have committed the homicide after suspecting that his partner was unfaithful. Following the murder, her body was wrapped in a blanket and dumped in a field.
According to available information, Rita—a resident of Bihar and currently a tenant in Naharpur village, Manesar—was married 11 years ago. Approximately five years ago, she and her husband moved to Naharpur on a rental basis, where they both began working. Over time, marital disagreements escalated, eventually leading her husband to abandon her in the village. After her abandonment, Rita entered into a live-in relationship with Shiv Shankar Sharma, better known as Kaleecharan.
Suspicious of Rita’s fidelity, Kaleecharan allegedly believed she was involved in an extramarital affair. The growing mistrust led to frequent quarrels between the couple. On February 23, these tensions culminated in Kaleecharan murdering Rita. He then wrapped her body in a blanket and disposed of it in a local field. Upon receiving a tip-off, the police recovered Rita’s body from the scene and initiated an investigation. Rita’s father further suspected Kaleecharan’s involvement in her murder, prompting an extensive police inquiry.
In a joint operation between the Manesar Crime Branch and Manesar Police Station, authorities arrested Kaleecharan today in Naharpur. A resident of Bhikhampur in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, Kaleecharan was apprehended as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police interrogations revealed that Kaleecharan had been living with Rita while working as a labourer, whereas Rita was employed by a company in IMT Manesar. It is reported that his suspicions regarding Rita’s alleged involvement with another man ultimately drove him to commit the crime and dispose of her body in a wheat field.
