Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 25 August – On the occasion of Vishva Bandhutva Diwas, Gurugram witnessed a massive wave of service and solidarity as thousands came forward to donate blood at the Vishal Raktdaan Abhiyan 2025. Organized by the Brahmakumaris and Samaj Seva Prabhag at Paawan Dham, Housing Board Colony, Sector 31, the camp was dedicated to the 18th Punya Tithi of Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani.
With an ambitious pledge to collect 1 lakh litres of blood, the campaign has already crossed the halfway mark. 50,000 litres have been collected so far, bringing organizers closer to their pledge. Every unit donated, they remind, can save up to three lives — from accident victims to cancer patients to mothers in labour.
The camp’s message was clear and uncompromising: “Raktdaan Karein, Jeevan Bachayein” — donate blood, save lives. But this was not just about helping others. Donors and doctors alike highlighted the health benefits of giving blood, from reducing certain health risks to renewing blood cells, proving that blood donation strengthens both the giver and the receiver.
First-time donors expressed a mix of nervousness and pride, many saying they had always heard of the benefits and finally stepped up to contribute. Regular donors spoke of the deep satisfaction in helping selflessly and urged others to make it a routine part of their lives. Doctors and organizers called blood donation a true “Mahadaan” — a supreme donation — stressing that collective responsibility is the only way to build a healthier society.
The atmosphere at the camp was nothing short of inspirational. From emotional and personal experiences where donated blood once saved a loved one, to volunteers determined to break myths around blood donation, the event carried an unmistakable energy of inspiration and enthusiasm.
This was more than just a camp; it was a movement. With half the target already achieved, Gurugram stands at the heart of a national effort that could save countless lives.
Now the question is: will you be the next donor?
