Faridabad (Ajay Verma/Paridhi Dhasmana), 15 September – Seven years ago, Colour Yellow Films and visionary filmmaker Aanand L. Rai gifted audiences Manmarziyaan—a story that redefined modern love with honesty, grit, and zero pretence. Under Rai’s creative banner and directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film broke away from conventional romance, presenting love not as a fairytale but as a messy, unfinished, deeply human experience.
Starring Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Abhishek Bachchan, Manmarziyaan explored the intricate balance between desire, duty, and devotion against the backdrop of a small town in Punjab. The performances, raw and layered, brought to life characters who continue to resonate with audiences even today.
To mark the milestone, Colour Yellow celebrated on social media with a post that read: “7 years gone by, yet our hearts still wrestle between dil, dosti, and manmarziyaan. Rumi, Vicky, and Robbie—a trio we’ll never forget. #7YearsOfManmarziyaan”

What set the film apart was its refusal to provide easy answers or a neatly wrapped ‘happily-ever-after.’ Instead, it taught viewers that love is rarely perfect—it is tangled, confusing, sometimes even bitter, but always beautiful.
Manmarziyaan also reaffirmed Colour Yellow’s commitment to telling stories rooted in reality, backed by Aanand L. Rai’s flair for emotionally resonant storytelling. Together, they crafted a film that challenged audiences to embrace the contradictions of relationships.
Seven years on, the film remains a touchstone for conversations around modern love. It proves that some stories only grow more relevant with time—and cements Colour Yellow’s legacy as a champion of bold, meaningful cinema.
