Actor Arya Babbar to Portray Ravan; Grand Event Begins September 22

New Delhi (Ajay Verma/Paridhi Dhasmana), 19 September – The country’s most prominent staging of Lav Kush Ramlila is set to bring a special addition this year as actress Poonam Pandey takes on the role of Mandodari, the wife of Ravan, at the historic Red Fort Ground in Delhi.
Confirming the announcement, Arjun Kumar, President of the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, said, “When we approached Poonam Pandey for this role, she instantly agreed. She said portraying Mandodari on stage has been her lifelong dream, fulfilled with the blessings of Lord Shri Ram. Performing live before thousands is a challenge, and she is already immersed in rehearsals.”
Pandey, who has appeared in films such as Karma – The Journey and GST: Galti Se Sirf, and in the popular television series CID, will share the stage with actor Arya Babbar, who is playing Ravan this year.
The Lav Kush Ramlila, held annually at the Red Fort Ground, is one of the capital’s most celebrated cultural events. This year, the grand staging will run from September 22 to October 3, 2025, with the festival culminating in the traditional Dussehra celebration on October 2.
