Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana/Mohit Kumar), 16 April – Three miscreants entered the shack-style hotel on Pataudi Kulana Road under the pretext of buying cold drinks. The hotel was relatively quiet at the time. Seizing the opportunity, the attackers opened fire, killing the hotel owner on the spot. Notably, the hotel’s CCTV cameras had been turned off during the incident—a fact that raises suspicions of possible involvement by an insider. Police are currently investigating every angle of the case.
According to reports, after the sound of gunfire, hotel staff and other people rushed to the scene, but by then the three attackers had already fled on a motorcycle. The police arrived at the scene soon after receiving the report. Initial investigations suggest that the motive behind the murder was a vendetta against the hotel owner. The investigation is ongoing.
Police later identified that the hotel’s CCTV cameras had been deliberately turned off. The deceased has been identified as Deependra, also known as Monu Jatoli. Investigators believe that the cameras were disabled purposely to prevent the incident from being recorded, and local residents mentioned that a similar shooting incident had occurred at the hotel in the past.
Sources reveal that several years ago, a young man was murdered in Monu’s village and that Monu’s brother had been implicated in that case. The police suspect that this long-standing vendetta may have led to the shooting of Monu. They are now attempting to identify the culprits, using footage from the hotel’s surrounding CCTV cameras. Multiple teams have been formed to apprehend the assailants, and forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene.
Police are also seeking answers to several unresolved questions. No statement has yet been released by Monu’s family, who might clarify whether the shooting was connected to his brother’s murder case or reveal other underlying motives. Additionally, locals recall a previous firing incident at the hotel—details such as when and why that occurred are still unclear. The authorities remain determined to find answers to all these questions.
