Gurugram (Paridhi Dhasmana), 4 May – A felicitation ceremony followed by a public meeting was organized today in Sector 7 to welcome Vijay Parmar, the newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor of Ward 32. The event, hosted by Atul Dawar and convened by community leader Rajiv Arya, drew a large gathering of concerned residents eager to discuss pressing local issues.
Among those in attendance were BJP State Secretary Gargi Kakkar; prominent neighborhood figures—including Sushma Buddhiraja, Manmohan Chawla, Hariom Yadav, Dr Vineet Gambhir, Chetan Grover, Om Prakash Kukreja, Jagmohan Gupta, Pawan Pahuja, and Luv Kumar Pal—and numerous residents such as Subhash Rakheja, Vinod Kataria, and Gopal Khurana.
The dual-purpose gathering was not merely ceremonial. Residents voiced concerns ranging from sewer blockages and drain overflows to unauthorized connections and general administrative delays. Councillor Parmar, backed by his BJP colleagues, pledged to address each issue with urgency, though he refrained from committing to specific completion dates. “I am fully committed to resolving every problem in Sector 7,” he affirmed, acknowledging that “correcting the laxity of the past 10–12 years will require time and sustained effort.”
On the acute matter of sewer blockages, Parmar reported that authorities have been directed to seal seven illegal drain connections, and he expressed confidence that these measures would alleviate the overflow shortly.
Speakers Luv Kumar Pal and Mrs Gargi Kakkar lauded Parmar’s “soft skills and genuine passion for social work,” attributes they said were instrumental in securing his recent electoral victory. Both assured the new councillor of their unwavering support in serving the ward’s populace.
In his response, Parmar extended heartfelt thanks to all residents for their votes and trust. “Your support energizes me,” he said. “I will work earnestly and transparently for every citizen of Ward 32.”
The meeting concluded on a note of optimism, with attendees encouraged by the councillor’s hands‑on involvement and the BJP leadership’s commitment to swift action. Residents left with the understanding that, while significant improvements may take time, they now have a dedicated representative poised to tackle Sector 7’s long-standing challenges.
